The coastal city of Corpus Christi is home to more than 440,000 people in its metropolitan area. The city is known for its hot and humid summers but its mild winters with temps only dipping to the 60s usually in December and January.

Many of us at Atzenhoffer love to spend time in Corpus Christi. The city offers so much to do.

Things to do in Corpus Christi, Texas

If you and the family are new to the area or just passing through, we recommend an educational day at the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay. Your kids will learn a lot, and you’ll enjoy beautiful gulf views and breezes.

The sun is often shining in Corpus Christi, which makes most days the golden opportunity to head to the beach. Two of our favorites are Whitecap Beach and Malaquite Beach. The entire Padre Island Seashore is beautiful to explore. While there, try surfing at Padre Balli Park or head down to the Bob Hall Pier for fishing.

Sports fans might even enjoy catching a game at the Whataburger Field.

Where to eat and drink in Corpus Christi, Texas

Looking for some local cuisine? We recommend Catfish Charlie’s, Saltwater Grille, Landry’s Seafood House, and Andy’s Kitchen. For something cheap and fast, check out Executive Surf Club or Taqueria El Potro. The Black Diamond Oyster Bar, Blackbeard’s on the Beach, and Texas Flame Steakhouse are local favorites.
